Cogslotters are minor enemies in Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove and major enemies in the Puzzler's Pack DLC of Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon. They appear as large minions wearing a grey apron and wielding mask, aqua boots and gloves and carrying a gun-like tool. They are found in the Clockwork Tower.

Story

In Specter of Torment, one Cogslotter appears as an NPC after Tinker Knight's defeat, and another can be seen attending Creech's bar.

In King of Cards, a Cogslotter is one of the local Joustus players in the Crag of Joustus. He must be defeated before progressing to the local champion.

Behavior and Tactics

Treasure Trove

In Treasure Trove, Cogslotters walk back and forth, although they can be at a standstill if walking on a conveyor. They either aim their tool up or down a few seconds before firing a cog, making it easier to guess the cog's trajectory. The cogs do a circular arcs alternating up and down.

They have (4) health points and drop two red rubies worth 50 gold each and a jar when defeated.

Pocket Dungeon

In Pocket Dungeon, Cogslotters are Legendary Path large foes in the Clockwork Tower.

Every few turns, Cogslotters throw their Cog on the board, aiming for the player. The Cog crashes down through two columns of the board starting from its point of impact, damaging any unit on its path. It takes a few more turn for them to get a new cog. If a Cogslotter is defeated while carrying a cog, it crashes on him and damages any units below it.

Coglostters have 10 health points and deal 1 damage point per contact.

Joustus Card

One of the Joustus cards in King of Cards is a Cogslotter card which has 1 Conveyor Arrow facing up and 1 Double Arrow facing left.
