Fate and Fortune is the first DLC for Shovel Knight Dig. This free update was released on Steam and Apple Arcade on March 17, 2023, and on Nintendo Switch on June 26, 2023.

Knightmares[]
Knightmares are 10 difficulty modifiers for runs of the Well, stacking up with each new level. After finishing successfully a run of the Well, Black Knight appears at the camp on the Surface to compel Shovel Knight into investigating dark happenings underground.
Fetcher[]
The vendor Fetcher now appears hidden at the end of each stage. For 250 gems, he offers a ride back to the Surface while also saving all collected gems during the run.
Mementos[]
New unlockable visual trophies called Mementos appear everywhere on the Surface to reward Shovel Knight of his feats and progress. A new tallyboard, anonymously provided by Hoofman, is added near The Well's entrance to keep track of them.
Compendium[]
New pages to the Compendium were added, and now the book tracks discovered Mementos, enemies, Signs (the stage modifiers met at the crossroads), and collected Food.
Hexadecimate[]
A new soundtrack called "Hexadecimate" replaces Spore Judgment in the Mushroom Mines half the time between runs.
Quality-of-Life Improvements[]
The auto-Shovel Drop, previously always performed with each jump, can now be toggled off in the options menu if one so chooses.
