The Armorer is a minor character in Shovel of Hope, King of Cards and Shovel Knight Dig. He forges armors for knights at the Armor Outpost.

Appearance

The Armorer is gruff, sporting a rough haircut and beard and muscular arms. He wears a green shirt, trousers and gloves and a brown apron. He usually stands on a stool to compensate the short lengths of his legs compared to his arms.

Story

Shovel of Hope

In Shovel of Hope, the Armorer can be found in the Aerial Anvil at the Armor Outpost. He sells different suits of armors which Shovel Knight can purchase. He also offers the knight to hold on any of his purchases, so he can change them here. In New Game Plus, the Goatarmorer, one of his employees, also offers this service.

He appears in the ending, working with Tinker Knight and the Shovel Smith in the Clockwork Tower to make toys for children.

King of Cards

In the prequel King of Cards, the Armorer joined the Shovel Smith to participate in the Joustus tournament. With his colleague, they act as one of the Joustus players in the Cavern of Joustus and have to be defeated before facing the local champion, Mona. They also claim to have been paid by the Troupple King himself to forge the gate at the entrance of the Royal Pond.

Dig

In the prequel Shovel Knight Dig, the Armorer had set shop with Hoofman, near the location where Drill Knight, would later dig a hole in order to escape with the stolen Shovel Knight's bag of loot. Sometime before the start of the story, he left to find a place hot enough to forge a new set of armor. Hoofman warned him beforehand and has been growing nervous about his prolonged absence.

Shovel Knight can find the Armorer trapped in a side-room of the Smeltworks inside The Well, marked by his hammer planted into the wall. After the knight defeated the foes swarming the room, the gruff craftsman tries to act cool and claim he wasn't trapped. He then goes back to his workshop on the Surface, which he calls the Anchored Anvil, and, after admitting to owning a favor to Shovel Knight, he begins selling armor sets to him. Unfortunately, most of his planned suits of armor, had their blueprints lost by the Armorer, making it necessary for Shovel Knight to first track down these Templates in the various areas of The Well, by following the hazy memories of the blacksmith.

• The Armorer is called "Greyson" in the Official Design Works artbook and on his sprite assets in Shovel Knight Dig.
• While the Armorer himself does not appear in Pocket Dungeon, he is referenced through the Armorer's Bandana Hat sold by Mr. Hat.
