Grizzled Seer, tentatively named Tim,[1] is a minor character in Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove. This wise old man seems to know more about Shovel Knight's quest than he lets on.
Appearance[]
The Grizzled Seer appears as a short, hunchbacked, old man with grizzled hair, beard, and ram-like horns. He dons a purple cloak and a staff and, as his name suggests, he is capable of predicting the future.
Story[]
Shovel of Hope[]
In Shovel of Hope, the Grizzled Seer can be found in the Village around the far right exit, where he encourages Shovel Knight on his quest to the Tower of Fate. He reappears in the beginning of Frigid Flight, however in a green robe instead of the purple one. This time he is much more disrespectful, mocking Shovel Knight's apparent inability to proceed further the dangerous path.
The Grizzled Seer reappears at the end among the rest of the village, as the Tower of Fate crumbles.
Plague of Shadows[]
In the ending of Plague of Shadows, the Grizzled appears among the inhabitants of the Village who watch the destruction of the Tower of Fate.
Specter of Torment[]
In Specter of Torment, the Grizzled Seer is among the inhabitants of the Lich Yard who flee upon the invasion of their village by the undead.
King of Cards[]
In King of Cards, the Grizzled Seer can be found in the Card Chest Seer's Study.

Trivia[]
- His sprite model is named "Tim".
- This and his overall appearance, may indicate that he is based on Tim the Enchanter from the comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
- It is unknown how two Grizzled Seers appear in the House of Joustus, as there is only one.[2]
