Lampeetos and Lampeeto Larvae are minor enemies introduced in the Puzzler's Pack DLC of Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon. A variant of Beetos, adults are golden four legged fireflies-like insects with light purple eyes. They have a large translucid abdomen capable to producing lights. Their larval state are purple buoy-like with yellow spikes and legs, with their abdomen raised on top. They appear in the Scholar's Sanctum.

Behavior and Tactics[]

Lampeetos are Legendary Path foes in the Scholar's Sanctum. They always appear on the board as one adult with 3 Larva in front of it, but they all chain together as a single unit type. Both adults and Larvae have (5) health points. However, while the adult deals only 1 damage point per attack, Larvae deal 2.

The best strategy is to circle around the larvae and strike directly at the adults.

Additionally, a Lampeeto is used as a traffic light on the HUD when equipping the Red Alert Beret Hat. Its light indicates when the playable knight can move (green), when they're soon going to stop (orange) and when they stop and units fall on the board (red).

Trivia[]

  • Lampeetos are named "tetrobeeto" in the game's files.
  • At some point during the development of the Puzzler's Pack DLC, Lampeetos were instead magical blocks named "ScholarBlock" in the game's files. They consisted of one core block and spiked sub ones accompanying it. Both core and sub blocks shared the same portraits.
