Master Argus is a character introduced in Shovel Knight Dig. He is an ancient undead master of the Shovel Blade who owns Master Argus' Training, where he sells Shovel Blade Techniques to upgrade Shovel Knight's own Shovel Blade abilities.

Appearance

Master Argus is a skeletal humanoid with a glowing left red eye and a glowing blue right eye. He wears a black Viking-styled helmet decorated with a golden cross at the front-center, and with horns similar in color and shape to Shovel Knight's helm. He wears a gray chestplate, tattered legwear, brown gloves, and brown boots. A tattered purple coat with a fluffy white collar is wrapped around his shoulders. He wields a Shovel Blade with a golden handle.

Story

Dig

When interacted with, Master Argus will always masterfully parry the attack, that is, unless he is beforehand distracted by attacking him with a Relic or by chucking towards him a minor object, like a stone, in which case he will fail to parry the following attack and take the blow. Impressed by Shovel Knight, he will then offer a 50% discount on his available techniques during that interaction. There is also a Feat tied to this, Unawares.
