The Meleeist is a minor character introduced in Shovel Knight Dig. She is one of the adventurers lured by the treasures of the Well.

Appearance

The Meleeist is a young woman with a brown ponytail, wearing light armor over her dark cyan shirt and beige pants.

Personality

The Meleeist is overconfident in her adventuring skills and always looks at things positively.

Story

Dig

The Meleeist was the first to arrive to the Surface after Shovel Knight went after Drill Knight in the Well. She is first seen after Shovel Knight falls in battle for the first time and before Spore Knight's first defeat. She inquires on the knight's condition before informing him about the newly formed campsite. She is then seen trying to light a fire at the camp, with the Oreman growing impatient at her incompetence.

Later after the campsite grows due to more people showing up, she is seen wandering it or sitting by the campfire, sharing a few adventuring tips for the Well. She can also be found in side-rooms of the Well. She appears over-encumbered and offers Shovel Knight an item, an Accessory or a Relic to reduce the load of her equipment.

The Meleeist also seems to have formed an adventuring party with the Caster and a navy-clothed Adventurer. She naturally takes care of the melee offense.

Dig Standing by the Well's mouth "Meleeist: Hey, are you okay there? Are you gonna start spelunking for gold like the rest of us? We're all setting up camp, over yonder. Come and see!" Wandering the campsite "Meleeist: Mole Knight is a real natural swimmer, ain't he? He must be half-mole, half-fish. Eheheh ." Sitting alone by the campfire "Meleeist: I heard that the more gears you stuff into Drill Knight's gear capsule, the more goodies come out. Imagine finding all three!" Sitting by the campfire with the Caster "Meleeist: Do you suppose the Lich Yard is haunted? I'm so ready to banish some ghosts." Sitting by the campfire with the Caster and a navy-clothed Adventurer "Meleeist: All right, raid review. First, I'll rush in with a barrage of melee attacks.
