Didn't know about the meme thing with Mole Knight, but I do feel that Reize's situation is different from Baz's. While he originally was from another game, his story in his other game, Valdis Story, lines up with his Shovel Knight story, unlike Baz.
Since Luan is Reize's canonical father, and Luan and Donovan were best friends in the past. It's even on the characters page that the creator wrote. I mean, Reize plays a pretty hefty role in Specter Knights campaign.
From what I know, Shovel Knight's Luan and the original character Sezui imagined are a lot different, physically and story-wise. I would say YCG just had the authorization to use the name Luan from Sezui. They then imagined a different background story for him to make it fit with the narrative of Specter of Torment. I don't even think Sezui created Dark Reize.
In that aspect, Reize's character creation in Shovel Knight is pretty much like Baz's. I also don't think Reize's family name should be used at all on this wiki, considering the game never uses it outside a single Kickstarter blog post years ago which introduced the Directors for a Day bonus characters.
It kinda varies some people use rouge-like for games that have a few features that are like rouge i used lite as it doesn't fit all the rules set by others.
(P.S. props for fitting all that info i would have done more but i'm not super well versed on editing wikis)
I just wanted to write this here because it has few to nothing to do with that other page.
I like that MatPat uses real-life facts to joke on realism in video games. However, taking for serious his explanations on an haphazardly written plot based on these facts is embarrassing. See it like this, MatPat's videos are supposed to be for laughs, just like Nostalgia Critic's main videos. In opposition, that guy who came up with the addiction allegory was serious about it, and each of his points were thoughtful.
Hence why I have more respect in that regard only (I haven't watched any of that guy's other videos and I'm not interested in doing so) for that guy, doing a serious analysis, than MatPat, doing it for his audience's laughs. I like MatPat's videos when they are fun, but cringes when he tries to sound deep and meaningful. Compare his previous Bendy videos to the last that just came out and you'll understand what I mean.
