The Prospector is a character introduced in Shovel Knight Dig. He is one of the miners lured by the treasures of the Well.

Appearance

The Prospector is a stout gray-bearded man with a notable round reddish nose. He wears an orange suit with a brown belt, tan gloves, brown shoes, a brown backpack, and a gray hat with a candle tied to the front with a rope. He carries rope that is looped around his arms.

Story

Dig

The Prospector can be seen on the Surface, either walking around or sitting by the campfire. He can also be met randomly in side-rooms of the Well. When talked to, he is ecstatic about an item he found, such as a Relic, a follow item or an health or magic upgrade. Since he has no use for it though, he gives it to Shovel Knight for free.

Sitting alone by the campfire "Prospector: You ever look through that compendium? Pahaha! Me neither. Why would I want to know more? Learning gives me a headache." Sitting by the campfire with the Lamp Lighter "Prospector: I got to the end of the well once, and there were two paths... but one was blocked! Why couldn't those Hexcavators open 'em both?" Sitting by the campfire with the Oreman, the Clawed Miner and the Lamp Lighter "Prospector: We toil all day in the mines, on the off chance of finding a gem. Bah! You know who's really getting rich?
