Rat Kings are minor enemies exclusive to King of Cards. They are clusters of five Propeller Rats stuck together and sharing a single propeller fan.
Behavior and Tactics[]
Rat Kings start hovering closer to King Knight whenever they are on the same screen. They however do not make pause when hovering, unlike Propeller Rats. Hitting them will make the Rat Kings lose a rat and speed. As such, it must be hit five times to be fully defeated (one for each rat). After losing four rats, the Rat King becomes a single Propeller Rat.
Joustus Card[]
One of the Joustus cards in King of Cards is a Rat King card which can push other cards up.
Trivia[]
- Rat Kings are a reference to the real life phenomenon of Rat Kings, an occurrence which was fittingly more frequent during the Middle Ages.
- In King of Cards, once a fairy is chosen as the Fairy King in the Fairy Glade, all Rat Kings will substitute their propeller backpacks with dainty fairy wings. This effect will go away after exiting to the title screen or relaunching the game.
