Personality[]
Scrap Knight is shown to be a very greedy individual, comparable to the likes of Treasure Knight; however, unlike Treasure Knight, who is primarily focused on monetary values like gold and gems, Scrap Knight seems to be more interested in valuable objects, like magical trinkets, artifacts, or famous weapons, leading her to have the tendencies of a hoarder. She is also rather eccentric and territorial, giddily assaulting anyone who crosses her domain so that she may "scrounge them for parts".
Scrap Knight also comes off as impatient and impulsive, as she grows indignant watching over the Magic Landfill while Drill Knight travels further down to open the vault. It's possible that she doesn't trust him to wait for the rest of the Hexcavators, but it's equally possible that she just wants to steal the bigger share of the vault's riches for herself. She also doesn't think before grabbing and being subsequently trapped within the Pocket Dungeon, too enamored with its shiny hue, an action she would later do again with Adult Bean's mustache, whose brilliant color also caught her obsessive attention.
Scrap Knight is quoted as having "ideas of her own" despite her alignment with the Hexcavators, which could indicate some form of treachery. As of now, the nature of Scrap Knights other plans is currently unknown.
Story[]
Before Dig[]
At some unspecified point in the past, Scrap Knight met Shovel Knight. She then formed a partnership with Drill Knight, a glory hounding thief famous for his high-precision thefts, and performed some heists together.
While holed up in the Tower of Fate, the criminal duo, thanks to a map found by Scrap Knight, discovered the existence of a great weapon, buried deep underneath the earth. Wishing to obtain notoriety and riches by retrieving it, Drill Knight and Scrap Knight recruited four other individuals, forming a specialized team of burrowers called the Hexcavators, and began stealing the Stones of Fate from their owners across the Valley, one of which being personally retrieved by Scrap Knight herself, as they had learned that the artifacts were the key for the success of their operation.
Dig[]
Following the map Scrap Knight had found, Drill Knight began digging with his Rocket Drill, landing in Shovel Knight's campsite and stealing his bag of loot, which contained the last gemstone. Shovel Knight, to retrieve the bag, followed the thief into the well, an enormous network of tunnels underneath the land.
While the tunnel was being dug by her cohorts, Scrap Knight spent most of her days in her assigned area, the Magic Landfill, sifting through the various abandoned scraps and garbage in search for extra valuables.
At either Magic Landfill or the Grub Pit, depending on which one is visited first, Scrap Knight was found talking with Drill Knight about the map she had found that supposedly lead to the treasure vault. She believed she had the right to be the one to reach the room, as she is the one who found the map, but the leader insisted that all of the Hexcavators should get an equal share of the money and fame. Hive Knight also intervenes, if Shovel Knight is in the Grub Pit.
After the exchange, the villains detected Shovel Knight's presence, and Drill Knight run ahead towards his base. Scrap Knight is confronted by Shovel Knight, and after a battle, she was defeated and her Gemstone retrieved.
After finally catching up with Drill Knight inside his moving castle, which had just reached the treasure room, Shovel Knight confronted him, but during their struggle Shovel Knight accidentally revealed the way towards the hidden room sealed away in the planet's Crystal Core, where the the Hexcavators finally found the prize they were searching, the extremely powerful amulet. Upon touching it, Drill Knight freed an ancient evil, The Enchantress, from her ages-long imprisonment, who commanded the thieves to kneel before her. Drill Knight refused the offer, confident that him, Scrap Knight and the rest of the team could take her, only to be instantly proven wrong when the ancient witch trapped the Hexcavators inside the Stones of Fate and transformed him into a giant monster. Fortunately, the combined forces of Shovel Knight, his partner Shield Knight, and her pet owl Altius, were able to subdue the creature and trap The Enchantress back into the Amulet.
With their big heist being ultimately a failure, the Hexcavators disbanded and went their own separate ways. Their leader, Drill Knight was successfully arrested and put into jail, but was able to evade moments after, thanks to his drill-tech armor, fleeing to parts unknown. As for Scrap Knight, she can be seen in the magic landfill with Chester, both searching for potential goods (there is however, a hint towards Chester possibly having a crush on Scrap Knight in this sequence).
Pocket Dungeon[]
In Pocket Dungeon, Scrap Knight was trapped in the puzzle cube after it appeared before her eyes. The magical artifact shaped its fourth stage as the Magic Landfill due to her presence within the box. She has been trying to defeat it on her own and can be challenged as a boss at the end of the Chromatic Caverns. Once defeated, she joins the Camp and can be picked as playable knight.
In the credits, she can be seen on a photograph overjoyed while sifting through a pile of treasures along with Tief the burglar, unknowing of the greedy Treasure Knight looming dangerously behind them. On the group photo, she is seen chatting with Treasure Knight to make him look away from his treasure bag while she uses her picker to steal it.
Abilities[]
Scrap Knight has a natural talent when it comes to discern the true value of items, being able to recognize precious trinkets no matter on how much dirty, ragged or spoiled they may look, making her ideal to sort garbage from treasure. Her greedy nature however, leads her more than often, to keep for herself the most valuable and powerful objects for herself.
In combat, her main weapon, besides her sharp trash picker, on which she can skillfully stand on top of and then bounce around like a pogo stick, is her massive Scrap Bag she carries on her back. Despite its shaggy look, the sack it's actually woven together with multiple magic fabrics, making it not only super resistant, but also virtually bottomless, all the while not affecting its weight by much.
Thanks to the Scrap Bag, Scrap Knight can pretty much carry around and pull out any item she wants, which she then decide to throw like projectiles, or make them stick out of the sack, transforming it into a spiked rolling object, or just straight up crush her foes under the bag itself. Scrap Knight can even decide to suck up and entrap her adversaries inside the Scrap Bag itself, taking advantage of her homefield to deliver ambush strikes with the picker, while quickly warping around its magical folds.
Pocket Dungeon[]
As a playable knight, her main ability lets Scrap Knight use her Scrap Bag to bag stuff and release it elsewhere, be they be enemies, dirt blocks, Keys, Potions, Items, and so on, being only unable to bag foes that are just too big, the exit door, or bosses. Her ability can be used as a handy way to set up chains, remove obstacles that block the way towards useful resources, or to essentially store an extra item for later use. However, the Scrap Bag has the limitation of only being able to carry one thing at the time. Another effect of Scrap Knight's main ability, is that any Items picked up have more durability than usual, making them last longer.
Her main ability to bag stuff is furthermore crucial when attempting the secret dungeon run involving the theft of the Adult Bean's mustache, as Scrap Knight is the only character that can initially pilfer it, although she can then later pass it to any other knight. If the run is successful, the Guidebook will be adorned with a one of the 6 secret ribbons. In addition, Scrap Knight can pet both Schmutz and the Spinwulf by just attempting to bag them; however, doing so multiple times will result in the Spinwulf eventually waking up and reject the pets.
Her secondary ability, the Refract Ability Blink Bag, lets her instead throw her Scrap Bag up to 3 spaces away and then teleport to it, switching herself, and any enemy, Potion, Treasure Chest etc. that is caught within the area of effect around her, with the units that are present in the other area of effect around the destination point. This makes her able to not only move around the Dungeon quite freely and quickly, but can also potentially set up chains with the right strategic warps. After launching the Scarp Bag, Scrap Knight can move around, thusly shortening, or generally altering the trajectory of the warp, and the units caught in AoE around her. However, certain hazards like nearby bombs will be immediately activated upon warping, and the blast will also be teleported with Scrap Knight, which may result in situations where the danger cannot be easily shaken off. For the ability to work, a usable space in which the Scrap Bag can land on must be available; Blink Bag is also unable to teleport Bosses or foes that are too big, but it can be used to quickly close the distance with them.
