Door of Might: surviving a fight with the Shrinemaster himself
Behavior and Tactics[]
The Shrinemaster has 30 hit points and deals 2 damage points. He teleports around the stage after he or his Loose Boneclangs get hit. He also throws primed Ratsploders from the top of the board who explode after 3 turns.
The difficulty of this fight lies mostly on endurance. While the Shrinemaster himself doesn't attack directly, the board is smaller than other bosses' and can easily be filled up with Loose Boneclangs and Steel Blocks. Having less space to move around means that avoiding the Ratsploders is more difficult. Also, attacking the Shrinemaster quickly depletes one's life away because of his heavy damage points, so Potions spawning regularly should not be neglected.
Unlike most other bosses, the Shrinemaster can easily be taken out with a Wildcard.
In Venture Endlessly, where the dungeon run is endless and loops after the supposed final boss, if the Shrines have already been all completed once in a previous loop, they will stop appearing from that loop going forward; as such, each loop will now always end with the Tower of Fate, and the Shrinemaster will not be needed to be defeated, nor will he appear at all.

Nyahahaha!
" "Shrinemaster:If you can't afford to enter the shrine now, you're welcome to return as long as you don't leave the level. I'll be waiting." "Shrinemaster:When you lose, the shrines are reset and their gifts are returned. I see it happen every time!" "Shrinemaster:Shrines are always located in the same levels. Smart warriors will ready their tolls in advance."

Trivia[]
While effectively functioning as a boss, the Shrinemaster is classified by the Guidebook as simply a major enemy, possibly due his lack of an introductory screen.
