Sound Test

Sound Test is a music player feature in Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove and in the stand-alone versions of each of its games.

Usage

Sound Test allows to listen to each track in the Treasure Trove games, including the version exclusive ones and the secret Par-tay Rap!. They can be played selectively on repeat, in order or shuffled.

Accessibility

Sound Test is unlocked on the title menu after completing any campaign once, or by unlocking every single stage in Shovel Knight Showdown. Each game must be completed once to unlock its corresponding list of songs.

Development

Sound Test was the first stretch goal for the Kickstarter campaign of Shovel Knight. Originally, Yacht Club Games created the character of the Bard to enable players to listen to any of the game's music freely, in exchange for his lost Music Sheets. Oolong fulfills a similar role in Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows.

With the release of Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment (version 3.0 of Treasure Trove) however, the developers decided to make Sound Test a feature available directly in the title menu for each of the Treasure Trove games.
