A dangerous invasive species, Tadvolt can periodically electrify whole networks of waterfalls and streams.

Compendium entry, Shovel Knight Dig

Tadvolts are minor enemies in Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, and Shovel Knight Dig. They appear as frogs with yellow crowns on their heads.

They have a bubble-clad variant, known as Tadfloats, and a yellow hat-wearing variant known as Tadguards. Tadvoltings are their offsprings.

Behavior and Tactics[]

Treasure Trove[]

In Treasure Trove, Tadvolts get around by hopping, as one would expect; they can jump relatively high and tend to try to jump on the player. They can sometimes electrify their bodies to increase slightly their hitbox.

They possess BossHP (2) health points and deal Sword 1 damage point. Upon death, they drop a green gem worth Treasures icon 10. They get knocked back when hit by the player.

Pocket Dungeon[]

In Pocket Dungeon, Tadvolts have SNewestBubblesPurpleSNewestBubblesPurple (2) health points and deal SATKsword 1 damage point. Every 3 turns, they are charged with electricity for one turn. In that state, they are invincible and hitting them causes 3 damage points, unless the player has the Shockproof Socks Relic.

Shovel Knight Dig[]

In Shovel Knight Dig, Tadvolts behave the same as in Treasure Trove. However, if any Water Flow is near their area of effect, they electrocute it as well as any creature touching it, including Shovel Knight.

Tadvolts have UI boss HP2 (2) health points and deal Sword 1 damage point on contact, Sword 2 through shock. They only appear in the Secret Fountain in specific layouts.

Joustus Card[]

The Tadvolt card has a Double Arrow facing down.
