Story[]

Pocket Dungeon[]

Tief can be found in Puzzle Knight's hidden room in the Camp. There, the burglar is busy sifting through the scholar's belongings, in hopes of stealing some valuables. He seems knowledgeable of a few secrets surrounding Puzzle Knight, such as the existence of the Shrines and the possibility that Prism Knight can teleport out of the Pocket Dungeon. He also claims to have snuck the Puzzle Guidebook into the player's pocket at their arrival at the Camp.

With the Puzzler's Pack DLC, if Puzzle Knight enters the room, Tief notices him and quickly vanishes, but from the Paradox Pack DLC onward, not if he's wearing the Adult Bean's mustache. Once Schmutz the cat is freed from the safe, Tief will flee from the room, making it possible to encounter him only in his "special" shop hidden in a side-room portal, where he sells some cheap, exclusive relics, and some knock-off ones, which together form the Lumber Set. However, after leaving the room, a new safe will appear, with Tief also returning to his pointless attempts to crack it open.

"Tief: Listen, buddy, I'm just havin' a look-see. Puzzle Knight's got some fancy things. How about we both keep this
niiice
and quiet.
"
"Tief: By the way... I bet you're glad I snuck that Puzzle Guidebook into your pocket! Pretty useful, eh?"
"Tief: Heh, you see any thieves here? I sure don't. Not a thief in sight. Just us...

"Tief: Puzzle Knight sure knows his way around, but... apparently, not enough to bust outta here."
"Tief: Who'd even create a place like this? You think they have any other artifacts? I bet they're loaded!"
"Tief: Looks like Puzzle Knight had a key to this whole joint, but it broke into fragments when he fell in. Tough luck, huh?"
"Tief: There are shrines of some sort, all over Puzzle Knight's maps. Whaddya think's stashed in there?"
"Tief: You meet Prism Knight yet? Her teleporting is really something else. Think she could warp out of here with her arms full of loot?"
Dialogue when entering his shop "Tief: Psst, hey buddy, come check these relics, you'd be crazy
NOT

"
Talked to when in shop "Tief: My merchandise comes from very... exclusive sources. Shop with confidence!"
Trying to buy something without enough gold "Tief: Sorry pal, lowering these prices even further would be literally criminal!"
Buying something "Tief:
Heh...
