Due to its runaway success, Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, as well as the other titles of the series, have appeared on many different platforms, sometimes with their own signature features. This page lists all differences between versions.
Computer Versions[]
The Windows, Mac, Linux, and Windows 10 versions are identical. They can all be bought from the Yacht Club Games website, Steam, GOG, or Humble.
Titles of the Treasure Trove compilation (including standalone versions)[]
- Battletoads Sidequest: a special fight with the Battletoads to unlock some special gear (only in the Shovel of Hope campaign)
- Five additional Music Tracks associated with the sidequest
Steam specific[]
- Feats are integrated with the Steam Achievements system

Pocket Dungeon[]
- Added exclusive Mod support with the Puzzler's Pack DLC. However, Mod support would only be correctly implemented with the Paradox Pack DLC.

This includes the Nintendo 3DS family of consoles (3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS, New 3DS, New 3DS XL, New 2DS XL), the Wii U, and the Nintendo Switch.
Titles of the Treasure Trove compilation (including standalone versions)[]
Via the use of Shovel Knight, Specter Knight, Plague Knight, and King Knight amiibo (compatible with all Nintendo consoles)[]
The 3DS, 3DS XL, and 2DS models require a NFC Reader/Writer accessory in order to scan amiibo. The Gold Edition version of the Shovel Knight amiibo share all of the same functionalities as its standard version.
- Custom Knight (usable only in the Shovel of Hope campaign- enabled through the Shovel Knight amiibo or its Golden Edition)
- Madam Meeber can summon an ornamental Fairy companion (all four main campaigns- Different fairy for each amiibo; the Specter Knight, Plague Knight, and King Knight amiibo also unlock one cosmetic armor costume for their respective characters)[1]
- Unlock additional Challenges centered on each character (5 for each amiibo, plus the Shovel Knight amiibo or its Gold Edition variant unlocks 5 additional Co-Op challenges in the the Wii U and Switch version only)
- Cosmetic costumes for Shovel Knight, Specter Knight, Plague Knight, and King Knight for Shovel Knight Showdown (one for each amiibo, for their respective characters each)
Nintendo 3DS family specific[]

Via the use of the Shovel Knight, Specter Knight, Plague Knight, King Knight, and Gold Edition amiibo[]
- Scanning one of the Shovel Knight amiibo series allows to summon a familiar ornamental Fairy Companion just like in Treasure Trove, with each amiibo summoning the fairy they represent. The functionality is not executed through Madam Meeber however, instead it can be accessed from the options menu at the title screen. Unlike with the Treasure Trove compilation of titles, the Gold Edition amiibo summons a different Fairy Companion compared to the standard Shovel Knight amiibo.

Nintendo Switch version[]
Via the use of the Shovel Knight, Specter Knight, Plague Knight, King Knight, and Gold Edition amiibo[]
- Added in the Nintendo Switch Version on June 26, 2023 alongside the Fate and Fortune expansion, Madam Meeber once again appear offering her services. She can Scan one of the compatible amiibo, then Summon their corresponding Fairy companion, the same from both Treasure Trove and Pocket Dungeon, whenever wanted, or Dismiss said companion when unwanted. Once again, the Gold Edition amiibo functionality is not identical to the normal Shovel Knight amiibo, as it will summon a golden fairy, now named the Gilded Fairy of Shovelry, instead of the standard blue one. When summoning, a complete list of the possible Fairy Companions will appear, with a series of "?" hiding the name of any fairy whose compatible amiibo has yet to be scanned, as well as a description indicating which amiibo is required to scan to unlock said fairies.
Sony Versions (PS3, PS4, PS Vita)[]

The Arby's collaboration[]
On February 5th 2021 Treasure Trove was upgraded to version 4.1 on all platforms, its last official update patch. That being said, Yacht Club Games later the same year, on May 2021, released in collaboration with Arby's one last micro-addition, 8 food themed cheat codes.
These cheat codes are only compatible with the Steam, Humble Bundle, GOG.com, and Nintendo Switch versions of Treasure Trove.
